Description

Teacher


Qualifications

1. Teaching certificate/diploma (preferably Bachelor's Degree)

2. At least 5 years teaching experience working in Early Childhood education, preferably in an international setting

3. Ability to plan and conduct engaging lessons in a play-based, academic setting

4. Ability to communicate with parents about programs, school, child's progress and conduct parent/teacher conferences

5. Work in a team with other staff and be a mentor to Teaching Assistant

6. Understand and respect principles and mission statement of KCIP

7. Pass a criminal background check

8. Lift 20 kgs

9. Communicate verbally and in writing in English and use grammatically correct language


Duties and Responsibilities

1. Supervise and assign duties to other staff in the classroom

2. Facilitate weekly classroom staff meetings that include discussions of individual children, health and safety practices and lesson plans

3. Assist site director in weekly all-staff meetings

4. Work cooperatively with site director in achieving the goals and objectives of the center

5. Ensure that the school environment is developmentally appropriate

6. Assist with the set up of classroom, learning centers and outdoor environment

7. Develop and carry out lesson plans

8. See that observations, assessment and portfolios are kept for each child on an ongoing basis



Teaching Assistant


Qualifications

1. Teaching certificate/diploma

2. At least 2 years experience working in Early Child Development, preferably in an international setting

3. Ability to listen and talk to young children and maintain a gentle tone

4. Ability to communicate concisely with parents about programs and school

5. Work in a team with other staff

6. Understand and respect the principles and mission statement of KCIP

7. Pass a criminal background check

8. Train with lead teacher

9. Lift 20 kgs

10. Communicate verbally and in writing in English and use grammatically correct language


Duties and Responsibilities

1. Set up classroom and learning centers

2. Monitor safety and respond gently to children

3. Supervise age-appropriate activities

4. Participate and plan circle times

5. Assist with toileting

6. Put away supplies

7. Participate in weekly staff meetings and professional development workshops

8. Document children's learning progress
